How to Do a Bibliography For Research Paper
How to Do a Bibliography For Research PaperA bibliography is simply a list of names of individuals and groups from whom a student is attempting to obtain information. The bibliography should include the names of faculty members, deans, department chairs, departmental librarians, conference chairpersons, etc.The purpose of the bibliography is to prepare the student for completing his or her assignment for the course by ensuring that the instructor knows exactly who the student has consulted during the course. It is important that students are familiar with the individuals and organizations that they consult. Students must know their names and how often they assist the student in class. If they are listed in the bibliography with some kind of testimonial, it should clearly mention this fact. The bibliography should also be as complete as possible. It should contain every name listed and the dates for which they assisted the student. They should not be listed simply because the student a sked them for assistance. The bibliography should always indicate the specific topic that the student would like to cover in his or her research paper. The class syllabus must be consulted, but if that is not available, the course syllabus should be consulted. The bibliography must also have a bibliography heading. This could be a numbered list of names or a first-page list of names. If the bibliography has a bibliography heading, this should indicate who is the student's source for the paper topic. The only time it is acceptable to use an unnumbered list is when the citation is for a book chapter, which is a small portion of the entire paper. The bibliography should also be categorized. In the case of a research paper, this should be done only for the entire section of the paper. In other cases, the bibliography can be used to categorize specific types of sources, for example if the student is writing a research paper on a single individual. Or the bibliography could be used to catego rize specific projects in the course, such as a project that focused on music, jazz, film, or visual art. When preparing a bibliography, the professor must be aware of the student's preferences and make the appropriate changes based on this. The bibliography should include names of professors and those instructors in the course, who may serve as sources of information.
